I'm moved by this week's second reading:
Rom 8:26-27
Brothers and sisters:
The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness;
for we do not know how to pray as we ought,
but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.
And the one who searches hearts
knows what is the intention of the Spirit,
because he intercedes for the holy ones
according to God’s will
When I pray with young people, I share with them that God hears all our prayers -- the ones we speak aloud, the ones we hold deep in our hearts, and the ones we can't find words to express even to ourselves.
God knows our need before and better than we do. All we need to do to pray "well" or "correctly" is show up and really be present. The Holy Spirit does the work and draws us to God.
Have you ever felt frustrated in prayer? Or felt like you didn't know how to pray?
Have you ever felt the Holy Spirit helping you in prayer?
