God of all nations

Here are this week's readings:

Isn't it fitting that each reading, even the psalm, comments on how God is God of all the nations, not just a chosen one? It's a serendipitous connection to the Olympics happening this week, don't you think?

How does it challenge us to see God as not just belonging to me, or to my "tribe", but to the whole world, even those with whom we're in conflict?

It gives us pause to think that God does not take sides or play favorites, whether in athletic competition or in war (though we do know that God is partial to the "least of these"). Every human being on this planet is God's child.
