Preparation for this sacrament of God's healing and forgiveness begins each fall. Parents are supported and guided as they prepare their children at home with materials provided. Children celebrate individually on Saturday afternoons in January and February. There is a separate registration fee for Reconciliation preparation.
Signs of readiness include a sense of right and wrong, beginnings of expression of sorrow for hurts done to others, beginning attempts to make up for wrongs done. Readiness usually occurs by the intermediate grades. Preparation for this sacrament and celebration should be experienced by grade six.
Information has been sent to children in 4th through 6th grade. If you believe your child is ready and you have not received the information, please contact the Christian Formation Office, mchurnet@dor.org or 334-3023. Registration forms are due by Sept. 20, 2008.
