What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Direction describes the relationship between two people or a small group of people in which seekers desire to more readily recognize and become aware of the presence and action of God in their everyday lives and respond in a more conscious way to the Spirit. Spiritual Direction, also known as spiritual guidance or spiritual companionship, is a sacred relationship governed by confidentiality, trust, open sharing, prayer and attentiveness to God’s hope, will, and dream for the seeker.
Spiritual direction is a relationship between two persons or a small group of people seeking more consciously to recognize and awaken to the presence of the Divine in our lives. Spiritual direction affects not only our relationship with God but also with others and ourselves. When we awaken to the Sacred in our everyday lives, we also awaken to who we are and to who others are and were created to become.

In seeking a spiritual director, you may choose to contact a staff member from the parish or a lay person, deacon, religious sister or brother, or priest that has had training in the art of spiritual direction.
